Emilio Gay Expected to Play in First Test Against Pakistan
England's cricket team has received positive news regarding opener Emilio Gay ahead of their upcoming Test series against Pakistan. Gay is expected to be fit for the first Test at Headingley, which begins on August 19, following a shoulder injury sustained while playing for Durham.
Scans revealed no serious damage to Gay's shoulder, allowing him to potentially resume his opening partnership with Ben Duckett. Gay made his Test debut earlier this year against New Zealand, where he scored two half-centuries in three matches, impressing the team's management.
This series marks Joe Root's return as England's Test captain, with Stephen Fleming recently appointed as head coach. England will also face challenges as top-order batter Jacob Bethell has been ruled out due to a knee injury.
