Emma Finucane and Sophie Capewell Lead GB Team at 2026 Track World Championships

Emma Finucane and Sophie Capewell will represent Great Britain at the 2026 Track World Championships, taking place at the Shanghai Velodrome from October 14 to 18.

The championships feature 22 titles across various cycling disciplines, marking the first qualifying event for the Los Angeles 2028 Olympics. Great Britain aims to reclaim its status after finishing second in 2025, where the Netherlands secured nine gold medals.

Finucane, a gold medallist at the Glasgow Commonwealth Games, is joined by fellow sprint team members Lowri Thomas and Rhianna Parris-Smith. The men's team includes Harry Ledingham-Horn and Matt Richardson, who is returning from injury. The event will be broadcast live on BBC platforms.
