England A Women's Cricket Team to Tour India for Ashes Preparation
The England A women's cricket team is set to travel to India in November and December for a series of matches aimed at preparing for the upcoming Women's Ashes. The tour will include three T20 matches, three 50-over fixtures, and a four-day game.
The T20 matches will kick off the tour in Pune on November 30, followed by the 50-over games and the four-day match at Mumbai's Wankhede Stadium. This tour comes after England's home summer concluded with a 3-0 series win against Ireland in September, with no further fixtures scheduled until after Christmas.
Among the players selected for the tour are established fast bowlers Issy Wong and Lauren Filer, along with emerging talents like Tilly Corteen-Coleman. Notably, some players are participating in Australia's Women's Big Bash League and the Women's Premier League in India before the 2027 home season begins. The multi-format Ashes series will commence with a four-day Test on June 27 at Headingley.
