
England Dominates Australia in WXV Global Series Opener
England triumphed over Australia with a score of 48-15 at CorpAcq Stadium, marking the opening match of the WXV Global Series.
After trailing 10-5 at halftime, England responded with a powerful second-half performance, scoring seven tries. The Wallaroos initially led with a penalty from Samantha Wood and a try by Faliki Pohiva. England's Abi Burton managed the only try for her team in a challenging first half.
Following the break, England's May Campbell, Meg Jones, Bryony Field, Mia Venner, and Sadia Kabeya each scored tries, with Lucy Packer and Claudia Moloney-MacDonald adding to the tally. Australia's second try was scored by Asoiva Karpani. The WXV Global Series aims to enhance competitive matches leading up to the 2029 World Cup in Australia. England will next face Canada at Exeter's Sandy Park.
