Interim head coach Marcus Trescothick has noted similarities between England's current pace attack and the renowned seam quartet from the 2005 Ashes-winning team. The new lineup includes Ollie Robinson, Jofra Archer, Gus Atkinson, and Josh Tongue, who recently led England to a series victory against Pakistan.

This new group of bowlers has been compared to the legendary seamers Stephen Harmison, Matthew Hoggard, Simon Jones, and Andrew Flintoff. Trescothick, who was part of the 2005 team, expressed satisfaction with the skills of the current bowlers, highlighting their match fitness and complementary abilities.

England's recent success marks a turnaround from a previous poor performance record, with the team achieving its first series win since 2024.
