Ennis Rakestraw Leaves Lions Practice with Leg Injury
Ennis Rakestraw, a cornerback for the Lions, left practice early on Thursday after sustaining a lower leg injury. The team confirmed that he is currently being evaluated for the injury.
During the practice session, it was observed that Rakestraw suffered a non-contact injury but managed to leave the field on his own. Rakestraw, who was selected in the second round of the 2024 draft, has faced multiple injuries throughout his career, playing only eight games in his rookie season due to hamstring and core muscle issues. He missed the entire 2025 season following a shoulder injury sustained in preseason.
The Lions had also drafted Terrion Arnold in the first round of 2024, but he was released this offseason, indicating challenges in solidifying their cornerback roster.
