Eric Bieniemy Returns to Practice After Family Incident

Eric Bieniemy, the offensive coordinator for the Kansas City Chiefs, has resumed practice for the first time since his wife, Mia Bieniemy, was shot at their Virginia residence on July 26. Their son, Elijah Zion Bieniemy, has been arrested and faces charges including malicious wounding and firearm-related offenses, as reported by the Loudoun County Sheriff's Office.

Upon his return, Bieniemy expressed happiness to be back, greeting fans at the Missouri Western State University field. During his absence, he maintained communication with head coach Andy Reid and the team, watching practice via live streams.

Quarterback Patrick Mahomes shared that he has been in contact with Bieniemy, expressing relief that Mia is recovering. He noted that Bieniemy has remained engaged with the team despite his personal challenges. Meanwhile, Elijah's court proceedings are currently postponed due to a required mental health evaluation.
