Bischoff responded by stating that the idea originated with Vince McMahon, who presented it to him during a weekly meeting. He detailed how McMahon described the character and mentioned that artwork had been created for it. Bischoff acknowledged his involvement in developing the concept further with the marketing department but emphasized that the initial idea was not his.

He noted that McMahon aimed to leverage Gable's collegiate background with the character. Following Gable's recent success at SummerSlam, Bischoff expressed admiration for Gable's athleticism and the significance of the event for him.
