Erica Meg Parkinson Selected for England's Under-20 World Cup Preparatory Squad
Erica Meg Parkinson, an 18-year-old midfielder, has been selected for England's preparatory squad for the Under-20 Women's World Cup, which will take place in Poland next month.
The squad, consisting of 24 players, will participate in a training camp in Portugal next week, where they will have a chance to showcase their skills in a friendly match against the host nation on August 13. Following this, three players will be cut from the squad before the final team announcement on August 20.
Parkinson, who recently joined North Carolina Courage, has previously been part of the senior national team and has played for the under-23 squad. This training camp marks the fourth of the summer for the team, which has had mixed results against various international opponents. England's first match in the World Cup will be against Canada on September 5, and they are grouped with Brazil and Tanzania.
