Erling Haaland Eyes Fourth Premier League Golden Boot Amidst Competition
Erling Haaland, who secured the Premier League Golden Boot last season with 27 goals, is targeting a fourth title this year. With Mohamed Salah no longer at Liverpool, the competition for the top scorer title may be more open.
Haaland has won the Golden Boot in three of his four seasons in the Premier League, scoring a record 36 goals in the 2022-23 season and 27 goals in the following two campaigns. He enters this season with a total of 112 goals in 132 top-flight matches and a strong performance at the World Cup, where he scored seven goals.
Other contenders include Thiago, who scored 22 goals last season, and Joao Pedro, who netted 15 goals for Chelsea. Watkins, with 16 goals last term, and Sesko, who scored 11 goals in his debut season, are also in the running. Historically, the Golden Boot has been awarded 42 times, with only 12 winners also claiming the Premier League title in the same season.
