ESPN to Introduce Pat McAfee Alt-Cast for Monday Night Football
ESPN is reportedly set to introduce a Pat McAfee alternative broadcast for Monday Night Football, according to Andrew Marchand of The Athletic. This initiative is contingent upon approval from the NFL.
The McAfee-led broadcast is intended to fill the Monday night slots when Peyton and Eli Manning are not hosting their ManningCast, which currently airs ten times a year. Similar to the ManningCast, the McAfee alternative would be shown on ESPN2, creating a competitive dynamic for viewership between the two broadcasts.
While the Mannings participate from their homes, McAfee and his team are expected to be present at the stadium, as he is already involved with Monday Night Countdown. The NFL's approval is seen as likely, especially since the league owns a stake in ESPN, suggesting that a mutually beneficial arrangement is in place.
