Essendon Caretaker Coach Dean Solomon Declines Senior Role

Dean Solomon, who has been serving as the caretaker coach for Essendon, has chosen not to seek the vacant senior coaching role. His time in charge has seen the team secure just one victory since he took over from Brad Scott in May.

Solomon's tenure included a notable win against GWS, but overall results have been disappointing. This decision comes as no surprise given the team's performance over the past two months. Other candidates for the position include James Hird, Mark McVeigh, Jaymie Graham, and Murray Davis.

Despite stepping back from the head coach search, Solomon expressed his commitment to the club, stating he will fulfill his contract through next year. Essendon CEO Tim Roberts praised Solomon's leadership and dedication during a challenging period for the team.
