Ethan Nwaneri Loaned to Borussia Dortmund with Recall Clause from Arsenal
Arsenal has loaned midfielder Ethan Nwaneri to Borussia Dortmund for the 2027-28 season, while including a recall clause in the agreement. This move comes after Dortmund's interest in Nwaneri, which intensified following an injury to their new signing Giannis Konstantelias.
Arsenal has blocked a purchase option in the loan deal, ensuring that Nwaneri's long-term future remains with the club. The recall clause can be activated at any time during the January transfer window, allowing Arsenal to bring Nwaneri back if he is not receiving sufficient playing time.
Nwaneri previously spent the latter half of last season on loan at Marseille, where he made nine appearances and scored two goals. His loan experience was less than ideal, as he played limited minutes following a coaching change. Arsenal is also managing the departures of other players, including Gabriel Jesus and Fabio Vieira, while retaining sell-on clauses for them.
