Europe Takes Lead at Solheim Cup After Defeating U.S. Duo

Team Europe secured a 7-5 lead at the Solheim Cup in Den Bosch, Netherlands, after defeating the U.S. duo of Nelly Korda and Allisen Corpuz on Saturday. This marked the first loss for Korda and Corpuz, who had previously achieved a record of five consecutive wins together.

The Swedish team of Maja Stark and Linn Grant triumphed over Korda and Corpuz with a score of 3 and 2 in the opening match of the day. Europe also gained points from Mimi Rhodes and Nastasia Nadaud, who became the first rookie pair to win two matches in a single Solheim Cup.

Leona Maguire and Esther Henseleit contributed to the European success by winning their match against Jennifer Kupcho and Rose Zhang, finishing 1 up after a strong performance in the final holes. Despite a setback for Charley Hull and Lottie Woad, who lost 6 and 5, Europe maintained their lead heading into the afternoon sessions.
