European Club Cup: Eleven Teams Share Lead After Three Rounds
After three rounds of competition in the European Club Cup, eleven teams are tied for first place in the open section, each with a perfect score of 6 match points. This group includes all but one of the top twelve seeded teams, with the exception of the tenth-seeded Beer Sheva Chess Club from Israel, who drew their match against Slovakia's SK Dunajska Streda.
In their match, Beer Sheva was held to a 3–3 draw, with notable performances including a victory by 16-year-old Czech grandmaster Vaclav Finek on the top board. Despite being outrated on five boards, Dunajska Streda managed to secure two wins, while Beer Sheva won on boards four and six, resulting in a tie.
Other top-seeded teams achieved decisive victories, with Bayegan Pendik Chess Sports Club and SuperChess Romania both maintaining their perfect records. The upcoming fourth round will feature direct encounters among leading teams, including a highly anticipated match between Bayegan Pendik and SuperChess.
