Evacuations in Liverpool Following Water Main Burst
A burst water main in Fairfield, Liverpool, prompted the evacuation of homes on Elm Vale on Wednesday evening. United Utilities is currently conducting repairs on Prescot Road and has set up a reception center for those displaced.
The water company reported that some residents may experience changes in water pressure and temporary discolouration of their water during the repair process. They have isolated the burst and are using tankers to maintain water supplies in the area.
Merseyside Fire and Rescue Service responded to the incident shortly after 17:30 BST, and a full evacuation was carried out at Tudor Court due to flooding in the basement. The leak was stopped by 23:22, and United Utilities is working to restore normal water supply while managing road closures and traffic disruptions in the vicinity.
