Evangelos Marinakis Files Lawsuit Against Crystal Palace Over Controversial Banner
Evangelos Marinakis, the owner of Nottingham Forest, has filed a lawsuit against Crystal Palace concerning a banner displayed by their supporters during a match. The incident occurred during a Premier League game at Selhurst Park, where the banner portrayed Marinakis holding a gun to player Morgan Gibbs-White.
The defamation claim was submitted to the High Court on Monday, with CPFC Limited named as one of the defendants. The banner included a statement denying Marinakis' involvement in various illegal activities.
In November 2025, the Football Association charged Crystal Palace for failing to control their fans' behavior. The rivalry between the two clubs has intensified, particularly after Palace's demotion from the Europa League, which followed a complaint from Marinakis regarding UEFA's ownership regulations.
