Exploring the Unique Surfing Experience at Malibu's Surfrider Beach
Malibu's Surfrider Beach, known for its iconic waves, continues to attract surfers despite changes over the years. Dan Harmon visited the beach during a notable south swell to explore the current surfing scene.
The beach, once a serene surfing haven, is now crowded, with surf etiquette often disregarded. Harmon noted the chaotic lineup, with 150 to 200 surfers sharing waves, a phenomenon he found unique to Malibu.
During his two-hour session, Harmon managed to ride four waves and was pleasantly surprised by their quality, describing them as better than he anticipated. While Malibu's waves are typically mellow, the conditions during the swell provided a thrilling experience, showcasing the beach's enduring appeal.
