Ezri Konsa Joins Arsenal in £51m Transfer from Aston Villa

Arsenal has secured the signing of defender Ezri Konsa from Aston Villa for £51m. The England international has agreed to a four-year contract, which includes an option for an additional year, after successfully completing his medical.

Konsa's transfer comes as Arsenal seeks to bolster their defense, particularly with William Saliba and Jurrien Timber sidelined due to injuries. The 28-year-old could make his debut against Aston Villa on August 31.

This move marks Arsenal's fifth significant signing of the summer, following the arrivals of Piero Hincapie, Illan Meslier, Christos Tzolis, and Bruno Guimaraes. The clubs reached a compromise after Villa initially aimed for a £60m fee. Konsa's versatility allows him to play both right-back and centre-back, addressing Arsenal's current defensive needs.
