F2 CEO Confirms Qatar and Abu Dhabi Races Will Proceed Amid Iran War Concerns
Formula 2 CEO Bruno Michel has affirmed that the concluding races of the 2026 season in Qatar and Abu Dhabi will proceed as planned, despite the ongoing Iran war.
The conflict, which escalated due to strikes by the United States and Israel, has affected racing schedules, leading to the replacement of Bahrain and Saudi rounds with events in Miami and Montreal. However, both Formula 1 and race organizers are optimistic about conducting the races without cancellations, although contingency plans are in place.
Michel emphasized that the championship will conclude in Qatar and Abu Dhabi, dismissing any speculation about a retroactive champion being declared. He noted that three drivers are in contention for the title, and the series is eager to finish the season with the planned races.
