FA Cup First Round Matches Selected for BBC Coverage

Altrincham and Cray Wanderers will host the BBC's chosen FA Cup first-round ties next month, featuring matchups against Notts County and Stockport County.

Non-league teams Altrincham and Cray Wanderers will host the BBC's selected FA Cup first-round matches next month. Altrincham, a National League club, will face former winners Notts County at Moss Lane on Saturday, November 7, at 17:15 GMT, while Cray Wanderers, from the Isthmian League, will take on League One leaders Stockport County the following day, November 8, at 14:15 GMT.

Cray Wanderers advanced to this stage after defeating Bedford Town in a penalty shootout following a 2-2 draw. This marks their first appearance in the first round of the competition. Altrincham holds the record for the most FA Cup upsets by a team that has never played in the Football League, with 17 victories over league clubs.

Notts County, a founding member of the Football League in 1888 and FA Cup winners in 1894, were eliminated at the same stage last year by Brackley on penalties. Coverage of the matches will be presented by Jason Mohammad and Alex Scott, with highlights available on BBC digital platforms.
