FAA to Close Airspace Above Reagan National Airport During IndyCar Race

The Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) has announced that it will close the airspace above Reagan National Airport (DCA) for three hours on August 23, coinciding with the IndyCar race in Washington D.C.

This closure will take place from 10:15 AM to 1:15 PM EST to facilitate safe air traffic management during the event. The IndyCar race, known as the Freedom 250 Grand Prix, is scheduled to begin shortly after 1 PM EST and will feature a 1.7-mile street course with 147 laps.

The race is part of the celebrations for America's 250-year anniversary and will pass notable landmarks such as the National Archives and the Smithsonian Institution. General admission is free, while premium experiences in the 'Champion's Club' section are available for up to $5,000.
