Fabio Di Giannantonio Discusses MotoGP Dynamics Amid Track Theories
Fabio Di Giannantonio, a rider for VR46, asserts that in the ongoing 2026 MotoGP season, the performance of riders is more crucial than the characteristics of the tracks when it comes to the competition between Ducati and Aprilia.
The championship has seen a back-and-forth between the two Italian manufacturers, with the Aprilia RS-GP excelling on fast corners and the Ducati GP26 better suited for stop-and-go layouts. Despite this, Di Giannantonio believes that Marc Marquez's recent achievements, including five wins in the last seven races, demonstrate that track suitability is not the primary factor in determining the championship outcome.
Di Giannantonio, who has been a strong contender for Ducati, noted his mixed feelings ahead of the Austrian GP, as he has not secured a podium finish since his victory at the Catalan Grand Prix in May. He expressed optimism about his team's capabilities, despite recent setbacks, and remains focused on performing well in the upcoming race.
