Fabio Quartararo Stops Yamaha Development Work Amid Frustration

Fabio Quartararo has decided to cease his involvement in Yamaha's development of the 2027 MotoGP bike after experiencing a frustrating weekend at the Aragon Grand Prix.

The 2021 champion expressed his dissatisfaction after being denied the opportunity to test Pirelli's new tyres, which he believes are crucial for future performance. Quartararo, who is set to leave Yamaha for Honda next year, stated that he no longer wishes to act as a test rider, feeling that his contributions are not valued.

During the Aragon weekend, Quartararo was tasked with testing various new components, including a new chassis, but reported that these changes did not yield improvements. He finished last in the race, over 50 seconds behind the winner, and expressed confusion over the bike's performance, indicating that he felt more like a test rider than a competitor.
