Falcons Encounter Quarterback Injury Concerns Ahead of Steelers Game
The Atlanta Falcons are grappling with quarterback injuries as Cooper Rush, set to start against the Pittsburgh Steelers, experienced back spasms on Saturday. Despite this setback, the team has confirmed that Rush will still take the field on Sunday.
Rush was elevated to the starting position earlier in the week after Tua Tagovailoa sustained an oblique injury during practice. Jack Strand, an undrafted rookie from Minnesota State–Moorhead, will serve as Rush's backup in case he is unable to play. Meanwhile, Michael Penix Jr. is still recovering from a torn ACL and is not yet in playing shape.
This situation adds to the Falcons' quarterback woes, as Tagovailoa had previously dealt with back spasms during training camp, raising concerns about the team's quarterback position.
