Falcons' Jake Matthews and Za'Darius Smith Miss Wednesday Practice
Falcons left tackle Jake Matthews, who recently reached his 199th consecutive start, did not participate in practice on Wednesday following a groin injury sustained during Monday night's game against the Saints.
Matthews exited the game in the first quarter and did not return. His backup, Michael Jerrell, is also listed on the injury report as a limited participant due to an ankle injury, but he expressed hope for backup snaps in practice this week, which may indicate a positive outlook for Matthews' availability.
Additionally, defensive end Za'Darius Smith, dealing with concussion and neck issues, and linebacker Yasir Abdullah, who has a hamstring injury, also missed practice. Defensive end Cam Thomas was limited due to a shoulder injury.
