Falcons Promote Josh Woods to Active Roster, Place JD Bertrand on Injured Reserve

The Atlanta Falcons have added linebacker Josh Woods to their 53-player roster, promoting him from the practice squad on Monday night, as confirmed by the team.

This move coincides with the placement of linebacker JD Bertrand on the reserve/injured list due to an undisclosed injury, which will require him to miss a minimum of four games.

Woods, who has been with the Falcons for the past two seasons, has established himself as a key player on special teams, participating in 82 percent of special teams snaps during the last season. He entered the NFL in 2019 as an undrafted free agent with the Bears and has played for four teams over seven seasons, recording 137 tackles, one forced fumble, and one fumble recovery.
