Falcons Sign WR Kristian Wilkerson After Roster Changes
Kristian Wilkerson has joined the Atlanta Falcons, marking another opportunity for the veteran wide receiver to establish himself in the NFL. He signed with the team on August 7 as they adjusted their 90-man roster during training camp.
To accommodate Wilkerson, the Falcons released linebacker Troy Andersen, a second-round pick from 2022, whose career has been hampered by injuries. Wilkerson, who is 29 years old, entered the league as an undrafted free agent in 2020 and has played in nine regular-season games across various teams, including the New England Patriots and Buffalo Bills, with modest career statistics.
Wilkerson's recent stint with the Bills involved bouncing on and off their practice squad, where he provided depth during injury challenges. His signing with Atlanta indicates the team's need for experienced depth behind their starting receiver, Drake London. The Falcons' receiving group has been considered thin, and Wilkerson's experience may offer them a reliable option as they finalize their roster ahead of the regular season.
