FanGraphs Launches 2026-27 Contract Crowdsourcing for Free Agents

FanGraphs has initiated its contract crowdsourcing project for the 2026-27 free agent market, starting five days after the conclusion of the World Series. This initiative aims to leverage collective insights to enhance projections for upcoming free agents.

The project includes new features based on reader suggestions, allowing participants to predict if a player will receive a minor league contract or no contract at all. Additionally, users can indicate whether players with options in their contracts will stay with their current teams or enter free agency. Projected WAR figures are based on the initial 2027 Steamer600 projections.

The current ballot features 11 free agents, specifically focusing on a selection of relievers.
