FanGraphs Launches Contract Crowdsourcing for 2026-27 Free Agent Market

FanGraphs has initiated a contract crowdsourcing project aimed at understanding the 2026-27 free agent market, particularly for starting pitchers. This project will commence five days after the conclusion of the World Series.

In response to reader feedback, new features have been added to the ballots, allowing participants to predict whether a player will receive a minor league contract or no contract at all. Additionally, users can indicate if a player will remain with their current team or enter free agency if their contract includes options. The projected WAR figures are based on the initial 2027 Steamer600 projections.

The current ballots feature 12 free agents, all of whom are starting pitchers.
