FanGraphs Launches Contract Crowdsourcing for 2026-27 Free Agents

FanGraphs has initiated its contract crowdsourcing project for the 2026-27 free agent market, starting five days after the conclusion of the World Series. This initiative aims to leverage collective insights to enhance projections for free agents.

The latest ballot includes a selection of outfielders and introduces new features based on reader feedback. Participants can now specify if a player is expected to receive a minor league contract or no contract at all. Additionally, options regarding player contracts, such as player options or team options, can be indicated to reflect whether a player will stay with their current team or enter free agency.

Statistics provided are adjusted to full season values where applicable, and projected WAR figures are derived from the initial 2027 Steamer600 projections. This ballot features seven outfielders available in this year's free agency.
