FanGraphs Launches Contract Crowdsourcing for 2026-27 Free Agents
FanGraphs has initiated a contract crowdsourcing project aimed at understanding the 2026-27 free agent market, which will commence five days after the conclusion of the World Series.
This year’s project includes new features based on reader feedback, allowing participants to predict whether players will receive minor league contracts or no contracts at all. Additionally, users can indicate if players with options in their contracts will stay with their current teams or enter free agency. The projected WAR figures are derived from the initial 2027 Steamer600 projections.
The current ballots feature nine free agents, specifically targeting a selection of first basemen and designated hitters.
