FanGraphs Launches Contract Crowdsourcing for 2026-27 Free Agents

FanGraphs has commenced its contract crowdsourcing initiative for the 2026-27 free agent market, particularly targeting starting pitchers. This project aims to leverage collective insights to enhance projections for the upcoming free agency period.

Free agency is set to begin five days after the conclusion of the World Series. The latest ballots include new features based on reader input, allowing participants to predict whether players will receive minor league contracts or remain unsigned. Additionally, users can indicate the likelihood of players opting out or remaining with their current teams. The projected WAR figures are derived from the initial 2027 Steamer600 projections.

The current ballots feature eight free agents, all of whom are starting pitchers, as part of this ongoing effort.
