Farid Basharat Challenges Dana White's Comments on UFC Departure
Farid Basharat has responded to Dana White's comments about his departure from the UFC following the expiration of his contract. White indicated that there are reasons behind not re-signing an undefeated ranked fighter, suggesting issues with fighters being difficult or declining fights.
In a video released on Sunday, Basharat refuted these claims, stating he never turned down an opponent and highlighted his upcoming fight in Abu Dhabi, where his opponent missed weight by a significant margin. He also mentioned competing on the Contender Series despite an injury. Basharat pointed out that he achieved a 7-0 record in the UFC, with six of those victories coming by decision, and was ranked in the bantamweight top 10 when his contract was not renewed.
He expressed frustration over the UFC's lack of communication following his victory in July and suggested that the organization may now prefer fighters with a more aggressive style. White had previously stated in court that he no longer directly manages fighter negotiations.
