This match was arranged after AAA GM Rey Mysterio contacted Robert Stone, suggesting competitors including EK Prosper and La Parka, while Romeo Moreno and Tristan Angels later expressed interest in participating.

Additionally, Jackson Drake will face Shiloh Hill, with the outcome determining two title matches for the upcoming Heatwave event. If Drake wins, he secures a North American title shot, and his team will also contend for the NXT Tag Team titles. A tag team match featuring Kendal Grey & Wren Sinclair against Kelani Jordan & Kali Armstrong is also on the card, alongside a Speed title match between Lucien Price and Lexis King.
