Faustino Oro Returns for Legends & Prodigies in Madrid

The second edition of Legends & Prodigies is set to occur in Madrid from September 7 to 12, with Argentine teenager Faustino Oro returning to compete. Oro, who won the inaugural event in 2025, will participate in a six-player double round-robin tournament at Nave Bellver.

This year, Oro will face five grandmasters: David Antón, José Martínez, Ivan Sokolov, Diego Flores, and José Cuenca. The tournament consists of ten rounds, with a single round on the first day followed by double rounds from September 8 to 11, concluding on September 12.

The time control for the matches will be 60 minutes plus a 30-second increment from the first move. The event has received FIDE approval for the games to contribute to the standard rating list. Additionally, the tournament will feature a confessional room for players to share their thoughts during games, while their opponents remain unaware of these comments.
