Félix Auger-Aliassime's Path Set for National Bank Open
MONTREAL — The draw for the National Bank Open presented by Rogers was finalized on Friday, setting the stage for the Canadian tennis championship this weekend.
Félix Auger-Aliassime, ranked fourth in the ATP Tour and the No. 2 seed, will begin his campaign in the second round against either Luca Van Assche or a qualifier. If he progresses, he may encounter Flavio Cobolli, the No. 6 seed and French Open finalist, in the quarterfinals.
Auger-Aliassime is yet to secure an ATP Masters 1000 title, and no Canadian has won the singles competition in the Open era. Other notable players include No. 1 seed Alexander Zverev, who could meet No. 7 Taylor Fritz in the quarters, and defending champion Ben Shelton, who is on track to face 2021 winner Daniil Medvedev.
