Fernando Alonso's Performance Key to Aston Martin's Points Finish at Dutch GP

Guenther Steiner has stated that Fernando Alonso's performance was crucial for Aston Martin's points finish at the Dutch Grand Prix, rather than the team's recent upgrades.

Aston Martin arrived at Zandvoort with a new power unit upgrade from Honda, following significant changes made during the Hungarian Grand Prix. However, both Alonso and Lance Stroll struggled in the sprint race, finishing 17th and 18th, and qualified 18th and 19th for the main event. Stroll retired early due to damage, while Alonso managed to secure ninth place with a one-stop strategy, earning the team two points.

Steiner remarked that Alonso's skill was the deciding factor in the race outcome, noting that the team had overestimated their performance improvements. Alonso acknowledged the team's upgrades but indicated that further adjustments are needed for better driveability and power efficiency.
