Fernando Mendoza Experiences NFL Debut Challenges Against Texans

Las Vegas Raiders quarterback Fernando Mendoza made his NFL debut on Thursday night in a preseason game against the Houston Texans.

After successfully completing a 22-yard pass to Jalen Nailor, Mendoza's next throw was intercepted by Texans rookie linebacker Wade Woodaz, who returned it 80 yards for a touchdown. Mendoza attempted to pursue Woodaz but was unable to prevent the score.

Despite being the No. 1 overall pick and having an impressive college career, Mendoza is still a rookie facing significant challenges as he transitions to the NFL. The Raiders have veteran quarterback Kirk Cousins on the roster, expected to start in the regular season, as the team focuses on Mendoza's long-term development.
