Ferrari Advised to Prioritize Lewis Hamilton Over Charles Leclerc
Guenther Steiner, the former Haas Formula 1 team principal, has stated that Ferrari should create clear team-order guidelines and prioritize Lewis Hamilton over Charles Leclerc to remain competitive in the 2026 championship.
This recommendation follows an incident during the Dutch Grand Prix at Zandvoort, where Hamilton, on fresher tires, was delayed behind Leclerc, affecting his performance and leading to complaints over the radio.
Steiner noted that Ferrari did not adequately prepare its drivers for potential team orders prior to the race. He suggested that if one driver has a better chance of winning the championship, it should be Hamilton, and emphasized that team principal Fred Vasseur should facilitate this discussion within the team.
