Ferrari Secures Unexpected Victory at Lone Star Le Mans

Ferrari achieved its first World Endurance Championship victory of 2026 at the Lone Star Le Mans, following a late mechanical failure of the leading Toyota. The No. 50 Ferrari, driven by Nicklas Nielsen, Antonio Fuoco, and Miguel Molina, took the lead with just 15 minutes remaining when the No. 7 Toyota slowed due to a hydraulic issue.

Initially, Toyota's Nyck de Vries, Kamui Kobayashi, and Mike Conway had been on track for their first win at the Circuit of the Americas, having moved up from ninth on the grid. However, the race took a turn when the Toyota encountered technical difficulties, allowing the Ferrari to inherit the lead. Cadillac's No. 38, driven by Jack Aitken, Sebastien Bourdais, and Earl Bamber, finished second after Alpine received a penalty.

The race began under a safety car due to wet conditions, with the No. 51 Ferrari starting from pole position. As the race progressed, various strategies unfolded, leading to a competitive environment. The final stages saw Molina fend off challenges to secure Ferrari's first Hypercar win since the previous year's Le Mans 24 Hours.
