Ferrari Secures Victory at Austin WEC Amid Mixed Fortunes
Ferrari celebrated a victory at the World Endurance Championship in Austin on Sunday, with the #50 crew triumphing at the Lone Star Le Mans despite a challenging race for the #51 car.
The #50 Ferrari, driven by Antonio Fuoco, Miguel Molina, and Nicklas Nielsen, faced difficulties early on but took the lead after the #7 Toyota experienced a hydraulic failure with just 11 minutes left. The team finished 4.7 seconds ahead of the #38 Cadillac V-Series.R.
This win marked Ferrari's first in the 2026 season and revitalized their championship hopes, now just 21 points behind the leaders with three races remaining. In contrast, the #51 Ferrari, which started from pole position, encountered a significant setback during a pitstop due to a restart issue, costing valuable time and ultimately affecting their race outcome.
