Ferrari Struggles in F1 United States GP Qualifying
Ferrari experienced difficulties during the qualifying session for the United States Grand Prix, with Charles Leclerc and Lewis Hamilton securing fourth and fifth positions on the grid, respectively. This outcome was unexpected as Ferrari had shown strong performance in all three practice sessions leading up to the event.
Leclerc had been the fastest in the first two practice sessions, while Hamilton topped the final practice. However, during qualifying, Mercedes' Kimi Antonelli achieved pole position, surpassing Red Bull's Max Verstappen. Ferrari's performance plateaued in Q3, attributed to challenges with straight-line speed and tire preparation.
Leclerc noted that a drop in track temperature affected tire performance, making it difficult to achieve optimal heat levels for qualifying. He expressed disappointment over the team's inability to match competitors in straight-line speed. Hamilton, on the other hand, felt confident about his performance but acknowledged that Ferrari's power unit might be a limiting factor compared to their rivals.
