Ferrari to Unveil Power Unit Upgrade at Italian Grand Prix

Ferrari is set to launch its second upgrade for the Formula 1 power unit during the Italian Grand Prix this weekend, following the guidelines of the Additional Development and Upgrade Opportunities (ADUO) system.

The ADUO system allows manufacturers to enhance their engines if they are underperforming, with Ferrari receiving two upgrade tokens due to its performance being over 4% behind the leading benchmark set by Red Bull. This upgrade is expected to add 15bhp to the engine, reducing the gap to Mercedes, which is currently viewed as the strongest power unit.

In addition to the engine upgrade, Ferrari will also implement updates to its rear wing for the Monza circuit. Team principal Fred Vasseur emphasized the importance of maximizing performance throughout the race weekend, especially in front of the passionate home crowd. The team will also feature a special livery inspired by Michael Schumacher to commemorate the 30th anniversary of his debut with Ferrari.
