Ferrari's Giovinazzi Claims Hyperpole at Lone Star Le Mans

Antonio Giovinazzi achieved his fifth pole position for Ferrari during the World Endurance Championship at the Lone Star Le Mans in Austin, Texas. He recorded a time of 1m52.445s in the Hypercar class, finishing on equal terms with Jack Aitken's Cadillac-Jota, but secured the pole due to setting his time first.

Giovinazzi noted the challenges of the qualifying session, including variable wind conditions that affected car performance. He had previously set the fastest time in the initial qualifying session. The Hyperpole position is crucial as it provides one championship point and a favorable starting position for the race.

Jack Aitken expressed his surprise at narrowly missing the pole, acknowledging the difficulty of managing tire performance in the heat. Meanwhile, Ferrari's other entry, driven by Nicklas Nielsen, qualified fifth, unable to replicate his earlier pace.
