FIA Court of Appeal Rejects Briatore's Impartiality Claims

The FIA court of appeal has dismissed claims made by Flavio Briatore, the Alpine team principal, which questioned the impartiality of the judges in a case involving penalties for Pierre Gasly during the Monaco Grand Prix. Briatore alleged that one judge had connections to McLaren, which he believed compromised the court's integrity.

The FIA clarified that its judges adhere to strict independence and confidentiality standards, including annual disclosures of interests and specific declarations for each case. They noted that no objections were raised by any parties during the proceedings regarding the court's composition or conduct.

The appeal resulted in the reinstatement of a penalty for Gasly, affecting his position in the race standings. Following Briatore's comments, McLaren expressed strong disapproval, asserting that the allegations were unfounded and damaging to their reputation.
