FIA to Enforce Stricter Regulations Against Team Collusion in Formula E
The FIA has announced that it will enforce stricter regulations in Formula E to prevent teams from colluding to influence race outcomes. This decision comes after a chaotic finale in London, where team orders will still be permitted, but overt coordination between different teams will be prohibited.
The new regulations, set to take effect in the Gen4 era, aim to address concerns about teams manipulating races. The FIA's General Provisions for the 2026-27 season include a clause that prohibits any agreements between competitors under the same manufacturer that interfere with race action.
FIA's Formula E chief, Pablo Martino, clarified that while team orders within a single team will remain allowed, any collaboration between different teams will be banned. The FIA plans to enforce these rules more strictly, utilizing methods such as monitoring radio communications to detect any potential manipulation.
