
FIA Welcomes New Commercial Rights Holder for WRC and ERC

<p>The FIA has confirmed a new commercial rights holder for the World Rally Championship (WRC) and European Rally Championship (ERC), with Cosmobilis and Park Square Capital acquiring WRC Promoter GmbH.</p><p>This acquisition, described by the FIA as the largest in the history of these championships, positions Cosmobilis, led by Eric Boullier, as the new CEO of WRC Promoter. The deal is expected to inject substantial investment into the sport, enhancing its global motorsport portfolio.</p><p>The transition to a new promoter has been anticipated, following reports that the previous rights holder, owned by Red Bull and KW25, was preparing for a sale. The FIA initiated a tender process last August, attracting interest from various regions. The new rights holders aim to elevate the WRC and ERC, focusing on fan engagement and the establishment of a new FIA Growth Fund to support rallying development worldwide.</p>
