FIFA Acknowledges Mistakes in World Cup Stake Proposal and Backs Infantino

FIFA has recognized that mistakes were made regarding its controversial proposal to sell stakes in the World Cup, which has now been withdrawn. The governing body expressed support for President Gianni Infantino, stating that the plan should have been managed differently.

The Forward Enterprise proposal faced significant backlash, leading to threats of a boycott from UEFA and its members. Infantino had previously offered £30 million to FIFA's 211 member associations to gain support for private investment in tournaments.

Following a meeting in Rabat, FIFA's Secretary General and Management Board reaffirmed their backing for Infantino, emphasizing the need for improved processes and communication. FIFA acknowledged the errors made during the proposal's development and committed to preventing similar issues in the future.
