FIFA Faces Accusations of Deception from UEFA and Other Confederations
UEFA, Concacaf, and the Asian Football Confederation have publicly accused FIFA of deception, intensifying scrutiny on president Gianni Infantino following the cancellation of the FIFA Forward Enterprise (FFE) proposal.
The three confederations expressed their concerns in an open letter, highlighting that the failed investment plan raised issues regarding the integrity of football and its leadership. The FFE aimed to establish a new company to oversee commercial and ticketing rights for FIFA events, including the World Cup, with a portion intended for private investors.
Despite FIFA's apology regarding the FFE proposal, the confederations criticized the lack of acknowledgment of the proposal's flaws. They emphasized the need for an independent investigation into the matter, asserting that proper governance requires an impartial review of FIFA's decisions.
